If we were to break down the country style into its basic elements, it would undoubtedly be vintage, country chic and retro. A look in this convention will be built around shades of brown, nodding to earthy colours, greys and greens. History was never your strong suit? Don't worry — you don't need to reach for a sabre or a uniform, although… Who knows? Although a country wedding draws heavily on the fashions of bygone eras, few couples opt for a faithful recreation of the outfits of those times. You'll find, though, that the more you delve into this theme, the more interesting little details you'll discover. You can weave them into your wedding look to give it real originality. How about a pocket watch on a chain in your waistcoat or retro cufflinks? If your wedding is set in a rural location, you might consider the style of an English gentleman who has headed to the countryside for the occasion. Shoes with a delicate brogue pattern, bold check, tweed, flannel, a shirt with a club collar, and even a flat cap — all of these will make you look stylish and distinctive on your wedding day. If your beloved is leaning towards a charming retro-style dress, you can draw on the country style with both hands.

The leading principle of the boho style is... that there are no hard and fast rules. Boho, short for bohemian, means ease and nonchalance, reflected in every aspect of the wedding — from the venue (a natural waterside setting or a retro-style club), through the decorations and accessories, right down to the outfits of the bride and groom. This lack of rigid rules and the freedom to play with fashion is enormously tempting for some gentlemen, while for others it can feel like an ordeal when making choices. Don't worry — we won't leave you on your own with it! If you go for a classic suit, you can have some fun with colour and choose a lighter shade or a bold check. Deep green, caramel brown, or a saturated burgundy all sit beautifully within the boho style. A light linen suit? Why not — it's a perfect choice for a summer wedding by the lake. When it comes to shoes, you're spoilt for choice too: from classic Oxfords to loafers, Chelsea boots or Derbies. If you can't decide between a tie or a bow tie, you can skip both altogether, or pick a shirt with a mandarin collar in a subtly Indian style. Perhaps you fancy something more original and decide to tie a cravat around your neck? Hippie-inspired accessories and details — such as leather cords or chains — will also go down well. If you want to charm your guests as a stylish yet carefree groom, be sure to pick a patterned pocket square, bold braces and… a hat! Remember, though, that the boho style isn't about throwing elements together at random — keep a pinch of restraint in your extravagance.

freedom for the decisive

The key word for a rustic wedding is a connection with nature. The palette draws on earth tones: browns, beiges, shades of green and white, and decorations centre around wood and other natural materials. So how do you find your place in a setting like this? You can follow the colours: a textured suit in shades of brown is a sure-fire hit. Green, burgundy and shades of grey also reign supreme. The rustic style is defined by its informality — and that's a good thing! After all, you want to enjoy the day freely, in a slightly idyllic atmosphere. The groom can have fun with accessories in warm, autumnal tones. The green mentioned above pairs beautifully with brown and orange; burgundy goes well with beige; and the tie and pocket square can feature bolder patterns. If you've never been a fan of traditional Oxfords, at a rustic wedding you can happily wear loafers or brogues. The inspiration from nature is also reflected in fabric choices: linen, silk grenadine or lightweight wool are ideal choices that let you feel both stylish and comfortable. A rustic wedding is an especially forgiving convention that allows a fair bit of freedom while still keeping class: you don't have to shy away from less formal elements.

a chic take on countryside charm

The glamour style can be counted among the classics, but it's the classics at their most refined. Here, the "wow" factor isn't reserved for the bride alone — it's for you too. What to choose if you want to dazzle all the guests? The answer is simple: a bespoke dinner jacket (tuxedo). In its formal version (some would say to be worn only after 6pm), it's made from black or navy cloth. Feeling like a touch of extravagance? A dinner jacket in burgundy or green, or a contrasting jacket, is a bold but very stylish choice. When it comes to the construction of the dinner jacket, the lapels should be either shawl or peaked — it's well worth relying on the professionals on this one. With the dinner jacket, pair a white shirt with jewelled studs or a covered placket, and a bow tie — no neckties! Don't forget a cummerbund, which you could alternatively swap for a waistcoat. Neither cummerbund nor waistcoat is worn with a double-breasted dinner jacket, and that version has its own rules when it comes to the number of buttons. And one more important note: if you're going for a proper dinner jacket, the trousers should be a higher-rise model, and instead of a belt you should wear braces. Black Oxfords will complete the look. Not feeling entirely sure among the intricacies of glamour style? Think of the famous scene from Casino Royale, take your cue from James Bond — or ask for advice at the atelier. That way, you can be confident that every element of the outfit will meet the formal requirements. A dinner jacket can wear many faces: if you go for this style, you can opt for classic elegance or reach for a velvet jacket — chic, and at the same time distinctive.

You know that feeling when you're looking back through old photos and think: "why on earth did I ever wear that"? With a classic style, you can be confident that in your wedding photos you'll look elegant and timeless. Many gentlemen choose this very option, because the classic style is a safe bet: a navy suit holds its own in countless situations, and with the right accessories you can give this foundation real character. The starting point is, of course, a suit in a deep navy shade. The classic style allows for either a more formal version with a waistcoat, or a two-piece suit; you might also choose an elegant double-breasted jacket for the day. If you decide on a waistcoat, you don't have to pick one in exactly the same colour as the jacket. How about a subtle check or shades of grey? Next up is a white shirt with cufflink-fastening sleeves. Thinking about brown shoes? Save those for another occasion — on your own wedding day, go for classic black Oxfords. When it comes to other accessories, the choice is up to you and the bride. Until recently, a buttonhole flower was considered an essential part of a groom's outfit. In truth, it's up to the two of you to decide whether to include this touch. A white pocket square is a safe choice, but you might also go for an interesting pattern — in that case, just make sure it doesn't clash with the motif and colours of the tie. If you value versatile, timeless combinations, the classic style is the one for you. It works beautifully with both a richly decorated and a more understated, flowing bridal gown.

Bespoke suits hanging in the Dąbrowski i Góral atelier
Wedding suit tailored by Dąbrowski i Góral
Made-to-measure jackets on display in the Poznań showroom

How are our wedding suits made?

Our bespoke wedding suits are created in Poznań and Warsaw, in line with the principles of the classic Neapolitan school.

The jackets have a natural shoulder line, without shoulder pads, and the construction is based on a lightweight canvas to achieve maximum breathability. The most distinctive feature of the style is the way the sleeves are set in — known as Spalla Camicia.

In our atelier, we offer two methods of tailoring wedding suits. The first is MTM (made to measure). It's designed for clients who need their order delivered quickly. We understand how important it is to choose the right wedding suit, which is why we make sure the atmosphere in our wedding showroom is always professional and relaxed. The reduced number of fittings — and therefore the shorter production time — is possible because we take measurements both from the body and from a block pattern. The second method is Bespoke — intended for our most discerning clients — distinguished by its particular precision and attention to every detail. In this case, the wedding suit is built "on the client" over the course of four fittings.

Our years in the industry have allowed us to partner with leading global fabric mills. In our ateliers, our bespoke wedding suits are crafted from the finest-quality fabrics from the very best houses — including Albini, Carnet, Ermenegildo Zegna, Ariston, Huddersfield and Loro Piana. This is how we're able to meet the expectations and cater to the needs of even the most discerning clients.
